Introducing Crossways to Life

The desire of CROSSWAYS TO LIFE is to help, and to equip members of the body of Christ to experience, mature in, and effectively communicate the message of the CROSS in their various spheres of influence, so that all may know Christ as Saviour, Lord, and LIFE.

CROSSWAYS TO LIFE is first and foremost committed to training people towards meeting the above stated purpose. We are a member of the Association of Exchanged Life Ministries. We conduct Conferences, Workshops, teaching sessions, and week-end retreats as part of the equipping process.

The message of CROSSWAYS TO LIFE is thoroughly Biblical and Christ-centred. It is based upon Galatians 2:20, "I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me."

Most Christians have been taught that Christ died for their sins; only a few have been taught the truth that they died with Him. Consequently, few Christians find victory in their lives. Although they have been set free from their SINS, they have not yet been set free from THEMSELVES.

The message of the believer's identity with Christ is not new. It has been discovered, lived and preached by great men of faith down through the years. We believe we are at the forefront of those using the truths of the "Exchanged Life" as a discipling method. These truths have been used successfully to set thousands free from the bondage of the self-life.

Meet Don Higgins

Born in Kitchener, Ontario, and raised in a Christian home, Don has from the age of 7 known the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour. Dedicating his life to Christ during his teen years, he has since then served the Lord in every conceivable capacity both in the local church and in many para church organisations.

As a Chartered Accountant, he worked all of his 32 year business career for a large distributor of building products, the last 17 as President and General Manager.

Through crushing and humiliating circumstances God graciously took him on a downward pathway, away from the smugness of personal accomplishments and success, to realise his deep need of the fullness of God's grace and power, knowing experientially, Christ as LIFE!!

Leaving the business world behind in January 1993, Don now devotes full-time to the ministry of Crossways to Life, providing teaching and discipling for hungry and hurting Christians.

Don's presentation comes from the reality of the Word of God as experienced and expressed in his own personal life. Through this ministry, and since 1990, hundreds have found the answers to their thirst to be enriched by the abundance of God's grace through Jesus Christ.

Don married Miriam in 1960, and she participates in sharing in this ministry. They have four married children. Your life will be enriched through the dynamics of the Word of God as shared by this couple.

Meet Ross Gilbert

Ross Gilbert has been a teacher and discipleship-counsellor at Crossways to Life since 2005 when he completed an internship program at GMI in Atlanta, GA. It is Ross’ desire to see other believers come and experience the truth of Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ and it is no longer I who lives but Christ who lives in me.”

Originally from Mississauga, Ontario , Ross grew up in a Christian home and was saved at age 7. He grew up with dreams of either being the goalie for the Toronto Maple Leafs or an automotive engineer. After never receiving any phone calls from the Leafs Ross completed his Master’s degree at the University of Waterloo in Mechanical Engineering in 2002.

It was during this time that God used the circumstances in life to reveal the truth of his inability to find life and peace anywhere but in God. On December 5, 2001 God opened Ross’ eyes to the truth of Galatians 2:20 for the first time and he discovered that it was going to be God through him rather than him for God.

Since that day Ross has had a strong passion to share this message with other believers, always knowing that one day God would provide the opportunity. So after working at his dream job as an automotive engineer in Detroit, Michigan, for 20 months he moved back to Waterloo to begin working with Crossways to Life.

Ross is married to Wiarda, who he met on a mission trip in Colombia, South America–that’s another story. They are the proud parents of two beautiful girls named Hannah and Zoe.

Coin du Ciel

Crossways to Life home is located in Kitchener, Ontario in Canada. Our Lord has provided ample facilities and space for the full range of training and discipleship activities that take place here. Don has adopted the name "Coin du Ciel" for the site, it is French for "Corner of Heaven". Since in Christ Jesus we are now seated in heavenly places, it seemed an appropriate name.
