Doug Ruest
Doug Ruest has always had a heart and passion for helping and teaching people. God’s call to ministry in Doug’s life began when he was leading a youth group in his home church in Toronto. He went to Bible College, earning a B.A. majoring in Religion and a B.A. in Theology. He then worked for the Canadian Bible Society. From there, opportunities led to pulpit supply and his first pastorate. Over 15 years of ministry, Doug got discouraged and burned out. That experience led to a major shift of employment into logistics and distribution.
It was through that season of not being in paid ministry that Doug and his wife Michelle had a marital crisis. Their 4 children had all grown up, moved out and Doug and Michelle had become empty nesters. It was then they realized just how far they drifted apart. Seeking counselling at Crossways to Life helped them through that difficult time and showed them who they are in Christ. It made such a profound difference in Doug’s life, he is now back in full time ministry, serving from Christ as his source of life. Doug and Michelle love mentoring and discipling young couples in their faith journey and marriages.
After taking the Exchanged Life Advanced Training in 2024, Doug was invited to join the counselling team at Crossways to Life.
